Living in Canada, it can seem impossible to look fashionable while wearing layers of clothes. This year, I feel like I’ve finally perfected a practical ensemble that also doesn’t make me feel frumpy. Here’s my winter edit of my favourite outerwear picks!
“In the depth of winter, I finally learned that there was in me an invincible summer.”
-Albert Camus
THE JACKET
I chose to update my winter jacket to a black classic parka this year. The simple design is timeless and it’s guaranteed that I’ll love this jacket for years to come. My jacket is from Eddie Bauer and will stand up to -30 celsius weather, perfect for the cold Canadian winters! It’s currently on sale which is a major plus, I couldn’t recommend this jacket enough.

THE BOOTS
The worst part of winter for me is dragging my massive boots when I walk. This has always been my biggest issue, until I got new winter boots for Christmas! These Sorel boots are so light, yet they’re so warm and durable. The waterproof fabric and sleek design has made these boots a fantastic addition to my winter wardrobe.

THE SCARF
I’m so picky with scarves, once I find one I love, I’ll wear it the whole season through! I’ve always loved plaid, and my scarf this winter proves that. This is another Eddie Bauer piece that’s SO COZY!! Any plaid scarf will obviously suffice, but this one has a special place in my heart!

THE MITTENS
Unfortunately the mittens I love wearing are from last year, but all Roots mittens are equally as amazing! Roots is a Canadian brand that literally NEVER disappoints. Their fleece lined mittens are like surrounding your hands with a hug of love!!
BONUS MENTION: SOCKS
I took my pictures on an uncharacteristically warm day for January in Ontario, so I wasn’t wearing these! But every other day, my Roots cabin socks would be peeking from the top of my boots! I’ve been wearing these socks for years, and nothing compares to their warmth and cuteness.
I hope you enjoyed my winter look and that you’re inspired to step up your outwear game! Talk to you in the next one!
